HYDERABAD, February 13: MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has urged the Telangana government to introduce three key bills aimed at strengthening reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in education, employment, and political representation. She stated that these measures are essential to ensure social justice and upliftment for marginalised communities.
Addressing the media, Kavitha criticised the government for not taking adequate steps to safeguard BC reservations. She emphasised that legislating clear provisions would help in securing rightful opportunities for backward communities in various sectors.
She also accused the Congress-led government of failing to prioritise the welfare of BCs despite its promises. Calling for immediate action, she demanded that the proposed bills be tabled in the state assembly at the earliest.
The demand for enhanced BC reservations has been a longstanding issue in Telangana politics, with opposition leaders pressing for concrete legislative measures. The government is yet to respond to Kavitha’s appeal.
