Hyderabad: A woman allegedly strangled her husband at Kesarama village of Mominpet mandal in Vikarabad district after enduring persistent harassment.
Sub-Inspector Aravind said the victim was 35-year-old Kurva Kumar of Rompalli village in Bantaram mandal. Kumar had moved with his family to Kesarama two years ago. He worked in the business of Satyanarayana Raju at survey number 26.
History of harassment
Police said Kumar was addicted to liquor and often harassed his wife after returning home drunk. He also abused their children, Manoj and Sandeep. Unable to bear the abuse, his wife Kurva Renuka allegedly threw chilli powder at him and strangled him with a saree. Kumar died on the spot.
Case registered
Kumar’s father Sayilu filed a complaint with the police. Officers registered a case against Renuka and began an investigation.
