Hyderabad: Moosapet has recorded the highest penalties among Greater Hyderabad’s 30 municipal circles for cleanliness violations, collecting ₹8.62 lakh in fines over four months, according to GHMC data.
From March to June, the GHMC issued 3,138 challans citywide under its anti-littering campaign, netting ₹58.95 lakh in penalties. Moosapet circle alone accounted for 134 challans—nearly 15% of the total revenue—imposed for offences including dumping construction waste in nalas, disposing debris on roads, and littering in public spaces.
The civic body is enforcing fines through its new Comprehensive Challan Management System (CCMS), a mobile platform that functions like traffic enforcement apps. Violations are photographed, geo-tagged, and electronically notified via SMS. Offenders receive e-challans and can pay online.
Fines range from ₹500 to ₹25,000 for general littering, and ₹25,000 to ₹2 lakh for construction waste dumping. Circle-level enforcement teams are also conducting targeted drives against commercial violators.
After Moosapet, the top-performing circles in enforcement were Uppal (₹6.13 lakh), Kukatpally (₹5.58 lakh), Khairatabad (₹3.27 lakh), and Secunderabad (₹2.88 lakh), GHMC records show.
