Hyderabad, February 1: In a dramatic turn of events, police arrested most-wanted criminal Battula Prabhakar after he opened fire on officers in Hyderabad’s Gachibowli area. Prabhakar, a notorious thief, is wanted in over 80 cases across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The incident occurred at Prism Pub in Gachibowli when Cyberabad CCS police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid. On spotting the police, Prabhakar fired at them, injuring constable Venkat Reddy, who was later shifted to a hospital.
Police apprehended Prabhakar and seized two guns along with 23 bullets from his possession. Originally from Vaddipalli village in Chittoor district, he has been involved in more than 80 theft cases in both Telugu states.
Prabhakar was previously imprisoned at Visakhapatnam Central Jail in 2022. His latest involvement in the Hyderabad shootout has once again brought him into the spotlight.
