Hyderabad: Sudheshna, a 28-year-old mom from Chintalkunta in Hyderabad, had just come back from a family gathering on May 16. While she was away, her home was broken into. Thieves made off with around 70 grams of her gold jewellery—items that likely held not just monetary value, but emotional weight too.
Despite her hopes, the jewellery wasn’t recovered. And whatever she was carrying emotionally must have been unbearable.
On Tuesday, not long after coming back and learning there was still no news on the burglary, she jumped from the third floor of her building, holding her little boy, Aarush, just two and a half years old.
Paramedics rushed them both to the hospital. Aarush, by some miracle, only had minor injuries and is recovering. But Sudheshna didn’t make it.
Police are now looking into both the burglary and what might have led her to this unthinkable moment. But for those who knew her—or even just heard her story—it’s a stark reminder of how heavy grief and loss can be, especially when it feels like there’s no way out.
