Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught a motor vehicle inspector in Armur, Nizamabad district, while accepting a bribe of ₹25,000. Officials said the bribe was taken to process vehicle registrations, renew licenses, and issue learning licenses without delay.
The accused was identified as Gurra Vivekananda Reddy, Motor Vehicle Inspector of Armur. His private driver, Tirupati, was also apprehended during the operation. ACB officers said the bribe was collected to ensure that no documents of the complainant were kept pending.

The trap was laid after a complaint was filed with the bureau. ACB officials confirmed that the accused demanded cash in return for clearing related vehicle services. The complainant alerted authorities, leading to the raid and seizure of marked notes.
Officials urged the public to report such demands immediately. Citizens were asked to dial the toll-free number 1064 to lodge complaints against any government employee seeking bribes. Complaints can also be made through WhatsApp at 9440446106, Facebook (Telangana ACB), X (@TelanganaACB), or the portal acb.telangana.gov.in.
The ACB assured that details of complainants and victims would remain confidential.
