Hyderabad: A 21-year-old youth was brutally murdered and his body burnt in the forests near Medaram village of SS Tadvai mandal in Mulugu district. Police identified the victim as Md Basith, a resident of Rajivnagar in Bhupalpally district headquarters.
According to SS Tadvai Sub-Inspector Srikanth Reddy, locals alerted police about a charred body found two kilometres from Medaram. The body was later confirmed as Basith’s.
Youth kidnapped, killed over financial dispute
Police said Basith’s mother, Sabiha, had filed a complaint alleging that her son was kidnapped in a car by three men identified as Kushal, Bablu, and Prashanth, all from the same district.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had financial disputes with Basith and plotted to eliminate him. They allegedly kidnapped and killed him before setting the body on fire to destroy evidence.
Police investigation
Police said the suspects were taken into custody and interrogation was underway. A case has been registered based on Sabiha’s complaint and further investigation is in progress.
