Musheerabad records all-time high rainfall as IMD warns of heavy showers across Telangana

Hyderabad: Musheerabad registered 18.3 cm of rain on Wednesday night, setting an all-time high for the locality. Bolakpur saw 15.8 cm, Secunderabad 14 cm, and Serilingampally 13.9 cm, officials confirmed.

Heavy showers flooded several parts of Hyderabad, leaving roads submerged. Water rushed into low-lying areas, forcing residents to struggle through severe disruptions.

IMD issues heavy rain warning for Telangana districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) linked the widespread rainfall to a depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal. It warned of heavy to very heavy rains today and tomorrow in several Telangana districts.

Nizamabad, Nirmal, Medak, Kamareddy, and Sangareddy face the highest risk of heavy rainfall. Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Karimnagar are also likely to receive strong showers. Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Mahabubnagar may experience significant rain as well.

The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre predicted more downpours today in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal, and Malkajgiri districts.
