Hyderabad: A rare moment of unity marked Ganesh immersion celebrations in Telangana’s Nirmal district where a Muslim woman won Ganesh laddu in auction.
At Adarsh Nagar Colony, a Ganesh laddu auction took place as part of immersion rituals. Amreen, a Muslim woman, placed a winning bid of ₹1,88,888 and took home the laddu.
Residents hail communal harmony
Eyewitnesses said people applauded Amreen’s gesture. They described it as a “living example of harmony” in a diverse community.
Local leaders stressed that Ganesh festivities welcome all faiths. This year, the highlight was how a Muslim woman wins Ganesh laddu in Nirmal, turning the event into a symbol of brotherhood.
Police said the immersion processions ended peacefully across the town. Residents said the auction would be remembered for spreading a message of peace and togetherness.
