Hyderabad: Trying to get a pothole fixed or report garbage that’s been piling up just got a whole lot easier. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has upgraded its ‘My GHMC’ mobile app, making it simpler for residents to file complaints and access essential services right from their phone.
Whether it’s a sanitation issue, a broken streetlight, drainage problems, or bad roads, people can now log complaints through the app without the usual hassle. Just take a picture, share your location, and the app sends your report straight to the right department. It even lets you track the status of your complaint in real time, and once it’s sorted, you can give feedback on how it was handled.
But it’s not just for reporting issues. The app also lets you apply for trade licences, pay your property tax, and book a vehicle to clear out construction debris. All payments are done online, so you can use your credit card, debit card, or UPI—whatever’s convenient.
There’s more. You can use the app to find your nearest GHMC office with the ‘Locate Ward Office’ feature. It also offers local weather alerts and lets pet owners apply for dog licences. Basically, the app is turning into a one-stop shop for just about every kind of municipal service.
GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan is urging citizens to make full use of the app, saying it’s a faster, more efficient way to handle both personal issues and neighborhood concerns. He added that the app is now live on both Android and iOS, and it’s designed to be easy for anyone to use—even if they’re not particularly tech-savvy.
All it takes is a photo and a short description of the issue, and you can check on the progress anytime, from anywhere. Karnan is calling on residents across Greater Hyderabad to take advantage of the app—not just to speed up service, but to help build stronger civic engagement all around.
