Hyderabad: A POCSO court awarded two death sentences to a Nalgonda man for the 2013 rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl. The in-charge judge, Roja Ramani, also imposed a total fine of ₹1.10 lakh and directed payment of ₹10 lakh compensation to the victim’s family.

For the rape, he received another death sentence under the POCSO Act with a ₹50,000 fine. For destroying evidence, he was given seven years’ imprisonment under IPC with a ₹10,000 fine.
