Hyderabad: The BJP parliamentary board will meet in New Delhi on Sunday to finalise the NDA Vice-President candidate for the election on September 9.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP president J.P. Nadda are expected to attend the 6 p.m. meeting. It will be held at the BJP headquarters. Party sources said the board may also take up the issue of the BJP’s national presidency during the session.
NDA Vice-President candidate to be finalised on Sunday
On August 6, NDA allies passed a unanimous resolution on the Vice-Presidential poll. However, they left the final decision to Modi, Nadda and senior ministers.
Since then, speculation has grown over the likely nominee. Former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu and RSS ideologue Seshadri Chari are reportedly among the names being considered.
