New UPI Rules

Hyderabad: UPI users will face some new limits starting August 1. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is rolling out fresh rules that cap how many times you can peek at your bank balance or check linked accounts through UPI each day.

Under the new rules, users can check their bank balance via UPI only 50 times per day. Beyond that, a service charge will apply. Additionally, users will be able to view bank accounts linked to their mobile number only 25 times a day.

NPCI is also implementing fixed time slots for auto-payment transactions in an effort to reduce delays and failures. However, the transaction limit for UPI remains unchanged.

NPCI said the changes are aimed at streamlining platform performance and ensuring smoother processing of recurring payments.
