Hyderabad: Police arrested nine people in Miryalaguda for running a ganja trafficking network. DSP Rajashekar Raju shared details of the operation at a press meet on Tuesday.

Upputolla Amaralingam, from Macherla in Palnadu district, bought ganja at low prices from Visakhapatnam agency areas. He sold the contraband to several locals in Miryalaguda town. The buyers included Mohammad Junaid, Mohammad Ghouse, Shaik Javid, Boddu Shyam, Pulijala Lakshminarayana, Nash Boyina Ganesh, Bommaji Gowtham Nanda, and Mohammad Tajuddin. Amaralingam also sold ganja in packets to other unknown customers.
Two Town police caught the suspects red-handed while they were distributing packets near a construction site close to Kalabharathi. Officers seized 1.1 kilograms of dried ganja and four mobile phones during the raid.
Police registered cases against all nine and produced them in court. DSP Rajashekar Raju said the department would take strict action against anyone selling drugs, especially to young people.
