Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharshan Reddy on Tuesday issued show cause notices to nine unrecognised political parties in Telangana, directing them to explain why they should not be removed from the Election Commission of India’s register.
In a memo dated August 12, 2025, the CEO instructed District Election Officers and Collectors in Hyderabad, Medchal–Malkajgiri, and Bhadradri–Kothagudem to serve the notices. The parties have until August 25 to submit their replies, which will be sent with recommendations to the ECI in New Delhi.
The nine registered unrecognised political parties are: All India Azaad Congress Party (Hyderabad), All India BC OBC Party (Medchal–Malkajgiri), BC Bharatha Desam Party (Hyderabad), Bharat Labour Praja Party (Bhadradri–Kothagudem), Loksatta Party (Hyderabad), Mahajana Mandali Party (Hyderabad), Nava Bharat National Party (Medchal–Malkajgiri), Telangana Pragati Samithi (Medchal–Malkajgiri), and Telangana Independent Party (Medchal–Malkajgiri).
The DEOs have also been told to publish the names of the parties in national and local newspapers and give wide publicity on social media.
