Hyderabad: Former agriculture minister S. Niranjan Reddy on Saturday criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for ignoring farmers’ distress and focusing on rhetoric in his Independence Day speech.
Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, Niranjan Reddy said the chief minister should stop commenting on language and common sense, and instead prioritise urgent farm issues. “If he had common sense, he would be solving farmers’ problems,” he said.
Reddy also referred to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks about English-language disadvantage and asked what the Congress government planned to do for agriculture. He questioned the outcome of the chief minister’s repeated visits to Delhi, claiming they had yielded no relief or even basic supplies like urea.
“Revanth went to Delhi 50 times. What came of it? He couldn’t even get urea. Even BJP MPs, who back him silently, haven’t raised the issue. They won’t help bring it either,” he said.
