NIRF 2025 Telangana performance in the medical and pharmacy sectors
At the national level, AIIMS Delhi topped the rankings. PGIMER Chandigarh, CMC Vellore, and JIPMER Puducherry followed in the next three positions. Meanwhile, Gandhi Medical College and other state-run institutions from Telangana did not participate. Therefore, the state’s presence remained limited. Between 2020 and 2023, no medical college from Telangana appeared in the NIRF list.
In the pharmacy category, Hyderabad’s National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research secured the 5th rank. Anurag University’s Pharmacy College stood at 72nd. Across India, 594 colleges competed in this category, including 45 from Telangana. Only two from the state earned ranks. Moreover, Jamia Hamdard Delhi, BITS Pilani, and Punjab University Chandigarh held the top three places.
Although Telangana made gains in pharmacy, no state college entered the dental list this year.
NIRF rankings guide students in higher education choices
The NIRF ranks institutions in multiple fields, including engineering, management, medicine, pharmacy, law, universities, and research. As a result, the lists help students choose colleges and understand placement opportunities.
In addition, the rankings carry global recognition. Students graduating from top-ranked institutes often find better chances for higher studies and scholarships abroad. Moreover, the framework guides them in identifying institutions that match academic goals and career paths.
