Hyderabad: Not a single Backward Class (BC) representative was included in the recent appointments to the State Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioners, said BJP MP and BC Welfare Association national president R. Krishnaiah.
Calling it unfortunate, Krishnaiah wrote to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy demanding justice for BCs in upcoming appointments.
In his letter, Krishnaiah said the government passed a bill in the Assembly promising to raise BC reservations to 42 per cent in education, employment, and politics. But in practice, BCs are being excluded from appointments. He said this contradiction is not acceptable.
He pointed out that the Congress party has been promoting the ongoing caste census in Telangana as part of a broader national BC agenda. Yet, no post was given to any BC in the information commission. “Is this the Telangana model?” he asked in the letter.
