Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy on Wednesday broke his silence over being left out of the Telangana cabinet expansion, declaring that holding a ministerial post has never been his goal and that public service remains his top priority.
After his strong performance in the assembly elections and his key role during the MP elections, many had expected Raj Gopal Reddy to find a place in the cabinet. However, he was reportedly overlooked due to social balancing considerations, sparking discontent within the party. Senior Congress leaders are said to have reached out to pacify him.
In an unexpected turn, Raj Gopal Reddy took to social media to congratulate the newly inducted ministers. “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the new ministers in the Telangana cabinet. I wish them success in serving the people. I have never been after posts or positions in politics. My motivation has always been the commitment to the people and the dream of rebuilding Telangana,” he wrote.
He emphasised that it was this spirit that had drawn him back to the Congress. “Though I may not be a minister today, I will continue to work with the people to strengthen the party. I will always be at the forefront, listening to their issues, fighting for their rights, and making sure their voices are heard by the government,” he added.
Undeterred by his exclusion, Raj Gopal Reddy insisted that his political journey was far from over. “Sometimes working without a position among the people can be even more powerful,” he remarked. “I have chosen that path.”
His message has lifted the morale of party workers and injected fresh energy into Congress circles.
