Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka ruled out any power-sharing arrangement in the Telangana government, stating the administration is operating through team coordination. He said ministers are working without internal friction, and there is no issue of division of power within the government.
Addressing national media in Delhi on Friday, Bhatti highlighted the Congress-led government’s performance, claiming citizens were facing no difficulties. He said the state had waived 100% of farm loans, raised Aarogyasri health coverage to ₹10 lakh, and was distributing gas cylinders at ₹500. He added that housing was being provided to the poor, fine rice was being supplied, and women were availing free bus travel across the state.
He said the Musi River beautification project would be completed during the Congress term, alongside construction of the Regional Ring Road. He dismissed any prospect of a BJP-led “double engine” regime in Telangana.
Bhatti also attacked the BJP over its handling of the 2016 Rohith Vemula case. At the AICC headquarters in Delhi, he said the ruling party had not acted against those linked to the Hyderabad Central University student’s death and instead offered them promotions and posts.
He demanded a national apology from the BJP for rewarding individuals allegedly involved in the case. He referred to former MLC Ramachandra Rao, who was accused of pressuring police to file charges and was later made BJP Telangana president. Bhatti also cited the appointment of Sushil Kumar—allegedly seen as a key figure in the incident—as an assistant professor in Delhi.
He said the Congress government in Telangana would soon introduce a law named after Rohith Vemula, as previously announced by Rahul Gandhi.
