Hyderabad: A migrant worker from Odisha died and five others suffered injuries when a wall collapsed at V Convention Hall in Gundlapochampally, Pet Basheerabad, on Monday morning.
Police said the incident occurred around 3:30 am after heavy overnight rain. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Gagan, died on the spot. Rescue teams shifted the injured to CMR Hospital for treatment.
Migrant labourers lived beside collapsing wall
Investigators found that the victims were migrant labourers working at a ready-mix plant owned by Aparna Constructions. They had been staying in tin sheds set up beside the convention hall wall, which gave way under rain impact.
The Pet Basheerabad police booked a case and launched an inquiry into the cause of the mishap.
