One-day Urdu conference on Nov 22 to highlight unity and language heritage

Hyderabad: A one-day Urdu conference titled “Urdu as a link language, a message of peace” was scheduled for 22 November at 9:30 a.m. The Confederation of Minority Institutions arranged the programme at KLN Prasad Auditorium, FTCCI, Red Hills. Minority Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin and Nampally MLA Mohammed Majid Hussain confirmed their participation as special guests. Moreover, the organisers said the event aimed to promote Urdu’s cultural identity and deepen its message of peace.

The committee invited several well-known personalities. Telangana Urdu Academy chairman Taher Bin Hamdan, MANUU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ainul Hasan, former Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Mohammed Suleman Siddiqui, IPS officer S.A. Huda, MANUU Registrar Ishtiaq Ahmed and MESCO honorary secretary Mohammed Iftikharuddin planned to attend as honorary guests. Additionally, the organisers designed the sessions to highlight Urdu’s literary depth, cultural influence and social relevance.

One-day Urdu conference to showcase leading voices

The one-day Urdu conference scheduled talks by Dr Rizwana Begum, Samina Begum, Dr Javed Kamal, Prof. Khwaja Nasiruddin, Syed Arif, Dr Islamuddin Mujahid, Dr Syed Inamur Rahman Ghayur, Dr Shahida Murtuza, M.A. Majid, Dr Abid Mirza and Prof. Mohammed Masood Ahmed. Prof. Siddiq Mohammed Mahmood planned to deliver the presidential address. Furthermore, the organisers explained that each speaker would emphasise Urdu’s literary tradition and its ability to connect diverse communities.

The closing session would bring together SC Development and Tribal Welfare Minister A. Lakshman Kumar and Telangana Minority Commission chairman Tariq Ansari as special guests. In addition, the committee invited Dr Mohammed Safiullah from GENCO, Anwar Ahmed of MS Education, Dr Mohammed Yusuf Azam of All India Muslim Educational Society and Dr Mohammed Anwar of KIAT Academy. Consequently, the final session would feature broad academic and community representation.

One-day Urdu conference to honour contributors and host cultural programmes

The organisers planned to honour Urdu journalists, public representatives and community leaders for their contributions. They offered spot registration on a first-come, first-served basis, and they encouraged early arrival because seats remained limited. Therefore, they urged students, teachers and literature enthusiasts to register without delay.

The programme also included a mushaira on 29 November at Khawaja Shauk Hall, Urdu Maskan, Khilwat. Conveners M.S. Faruq, Khalilur Rahman, Ahmed Idris Sharif, Mohammed Manzoor Ahmed and Mohammed Waqar Ahmed appealed to Urdu lovers, poets and researchers to participate in large numbers. They said wider community involvement would support the Urdu movement and help preserve the language for future generations.
