Owaisi condemns video of Delhi blast accused, calls justification of violence terrorism

Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi sharply criticised a viral clip of Delhi blast accused Dr Umar Muhammad, saying the accused tried to glorify suicide attacks and promote terrorism. Owaisi condemns video surfaced days after the blast and showed the man, who identifies himself as Umar Un Nabi, calling the act a “martyrdom operation.” Owaisi said the claim lacked any religious or moral basis.

He wrote on X that Islam forbids suicide and treats the killing of innocents as a grave sin. He said the act also violated the law. Moreover, he stressed that the video did not show confusion or misguidance but a clear attempt to justify terror.

Owaisi also questioned Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Shah had earlier said during Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev that no local Kashmiri had joined terror groups in the past six months. Because of that statement, Owaisi asked how a group linked to the Delhi blast emerged suddenly. He also asked why intelligence agencies failed to identify the accused and his network.

He said the Centre must explain the gap between its claims and the actual situation. Owaisi added that repeated failures raise concerns about national security. He urged the government to fix these weaknesses and prevent similar incidents.

Owaisi said the authorities must act firmly against everyone involved in the attack. He added that accountability is essential to protect the public and avoid further violence.
