Hyderabad: Chaos erupted on an overcrowded RTC bus in Vikarabad district on Friday as male and female passengers clashed over seats. The incident occurred on a bus running from Parigi to Vikarabad via Naskal, operated by Vikarabad depot.
Eyewitnesses said the bus was packed to capacity, leaving many passengers standing. With seats in short supply, tempers flared and passengers began arguing and physically pushing each other to grab any available spot.
Travellers from Parigi said that due to limited bus services on this route, such scuffles have become a daily affair. “Every day, people fight over seats because the buses are so overcrowded,” one commuter complained.
The scuffle left other passengers frightened and forced them to travel in uneasy silence as the bus continued its journey.
Passengers have urged the RTC authorities from both depots on the route to increase the number of buses to avoid such ugly scenes. “We shouldn’t have to fight for seats every time we travel,” a passenger said.
