Hyderabad: Three shepherds, a farmer, and 656 sheep stranded in floods at Shetlur village in Kamareddy district were rescued in a coordinated operation led by disaster response teams under the supervision of Jukkal MLA Thota Laxmikant Rao.
The rescue, termed “Operation Shetlur,” was carried out after heavy rains caused the Manjeera River to overflow and inundate parts of Bichkunda mandal. Starting at midnight, the MLA alerted irrigation, revenue, and security departments, mobilising officials to act. By morning, the mission was completed, securing both lives and livestock.
