HYDERABAD: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Telangana High Court seeking an extension of grievance submission hours at the state Secretariat.
The petitioner, Advocate Chandrasena Reddy, argued that many citizens from various parts of the state visit the Secretariat to submit petitions regarding their grievances. However, the current time slot of 3 PM to 5 PM for public grievance submission is causing severe difficulties, particularly for those traveling from distant areas. The petitioner has urged the court to direct the government to extend the submission hours from 11 AM to 5 PM to facilitate public convenience.
Additionally, the petitioner has requested the establishment of an inward submission counter at the main entrance of the Secretariat to streamline the process.
The Additional Advocate General (AAG), representing the government, sought additional time to gather details on the issue. Taking this into account, the High Court has postponed the next hearing for two weeks.
