HYDERABAD: The results of the Teachers’ MLC elections in the state have been announced. Pingili Sripal Reddy, the candidate from PRTU-TS, secured victory in the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ MLC election. Congress-backed candidate Gaalreddy Harshavardhan Reddy, who is known to be close to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, finished in third place. Alugubelli Narsireddy secured the second position.
The election was a major setback for MLC Kodandaram, as his supported candidate Pannala Gopal Reddy received only 24 votes.
Following his victory, Sripal Reddy stated that despite several conspiracies, teachers ultimately emerged victorious in the elections. He expressed his gratitude to the teaching community for electing him and assured that he would work towards strengthening the education system from school-level to higher education in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Alugubelli Narsireddy, despite his defeat, declared that he would continue to fight against the privatization of education. Speaking to the media after leaving the counting center, he remarked that electoral losses are natural. He thanked the teachers who supported him and pledged to advocate against the commercialization of education and healthcare in the future.
Narsireddy also welcomed Sripal Reddy’s victory, stating that he would stand by him in efforts to prevent privatization in the education sector and promote educational development in the coming days.
