Delhi, February 8: Following the BJP’s victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed party workers at the BJP headquarters. He began his speech by chanting “Yamuna Maiya Ki Jai” and expressed gratitude to the people of Delhi for their support.
PM Modi stated that Delhi residents were experiencing both excitement and relief – excitement over the victory and relief from what he termed “AAP-da” (a reference to the AAP government). He thanked voters for their trust and assured them of his commitment to governance.
Taking a dig at AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, Modi said that those who claimed ownership of Delhi had now faced reality. He asserted that the election results showed no place for deception in politics, declaring that the public had rejected shortcut politics.
He also referred to activist Anna Hazare’s recent remarks on AAP, stating that Hazare had long endured disappointment over AAP’s governance and would now feel relieved.
Modi criticised the Congress party, calling it a “parasitic organisation” that not only failed itself but also pulled its allies down. He suggested that members of the INDI alliance were beginning to see Congress’s true nature.
PM Modi emphasised his vision for a stronger political transformation and urged young people to actively participate in politics. He reaffirmed BJP’s dedication to empowering women, promising to fulfill every commitment made to them.
Highlighting the deteriorating condition of the Yamuna River, he pledged to restore it as a symbol of Delhi’s identity, regardless of the effort required.
He also underscored the significance of BJP’s governance across Delhi-NCR, stating that this would open new pathways for regional progress and youth employment opportunities.
