Warangal police have arrested three individuals, including the wife of Dr. Sumanth Reddy, for plotting and attempting to murder him over an extramarital affair. The victim remains in critical condition.
HYDERABAD: Warangal police have arrested three individuals in connection with the attempted murder of Dr. Sumanth Reddy on Bhattupally Road. The case details were revealed on Thursday by ACP Nandiram at the Mills Colony police station.
Dr. Sumanth Reddy, a native of Warangal, married Flora Maria in 2016 through a love marriage. In 2018, the couple moved to Sangareddy, where Sumanth Reddy worked as a contract doctor at a Primary Health Center (PHC), while Flora was employed as a teacher at a school run by his relatives.
During this time, Flora developed a friendship with gym trainer Errrolla Samuel, which later turned into an extramarital affair. Upon discovering this, Sumanth Reddy moved back to Warangal. In 2019, Flora secured a government lecturer position in Pembarthi, Jangaon district, and was later transferred to Rangashaipet while continuing to reside in Warangal.
While Sumanth Reddy ran a clinic in Kazipet, leaving early in the morning and returning at night, Flora continued meeting Samuel frequently, leading to repeated marital disputes. Eventually, Flora and Samuel conspired to murder Sumanth Reddy.
Samuel approached his friend, AR constable Rajkumar, offering him a house in Sangareddy in exchange for his assistance in killing the doctor. To execute the plan, Flora transferred ₹1 lakh to Samuel via PhonePe, out of which ₹50,000 was given to Rajkumar, and another ₹50,000 was used to procure materials for the crime.
On March 20, Rajkumar and Samuel conducted reconnaissance in Kazipet. When Sumanth Reddy was returning home, they intercepted his car and attacked him brutally. Assuming he was dead, they fled the scene. Locals found him in critical condition and rushed him to a hospital.
Based on the victim’s complaint, Mills Colony police registered a case and launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of Flora, Samuel, and Rajkumar.
Dr. Sumanth Reddy on Ventilator at MGM Hospital
Dr. Sumanth Reddy, who was brutally attacked by his wife and her lover, remains in a critical condition. He was shifted from Hyderabad to Warangal’s MGM Hospital on Thursday in a special ambulance. He is currently receiving treatment in the Neuro ICU on a ventilator. Due to severe head injuries and excessive blood loss, doctors have described his condition as critical.
