Hyderabad: Police placed ex-MLA and BRS leader Thatikonda Rajaiah under house arrest in Warangal on Monday. The move triggered protests from party workers near his home.
Officers stopped Rajaiah from touring Raghunathapalli mandal. Congress leaders had warned they would block the visit unless he withdrew remarks against Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari and apologised. Soon after, BRS cadres gathered outside his residence, creating tension.
Rajaiah slams Srihari, vows to continue fight
Rajaiah said Srihari would not even save his deposit if a bypoll came in Station Ghanpur. He toured villages in Hanumakonda under the “BRS welfare, KCR schemes to every household” campaign. During the visits, he accused Srihari of switching sides for gain.
He reminded people that Srihari admitted joining Congress a year ago. Rajaiah demanded that the MLA submit that statement to the Speaker in writing. He predicted Srihari would resign soon or face a six-year disqualification through a Supreme Court ruling.
Rajaiah pledged to continue his fight until the Devadula project is completed and water reaches fields for two crops.
