Hyderabad: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy assured that the Telangana government will prioritise the land rights of Greenfield Highway farmers affected by the Khammam–Devarapalli road project. He inspected the highway works near Muthagudem village in Penuballi mandal on Tuesday.
He called the Khammam–Devarapalli Greenfield Highway a key milestone for the development of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Ponguleti said the government is addressing the concerns of displaced farmers with care. He promised that their land rights will receive top priority.
The Minister directed NHAI officials to pay an additional 12% compensation, as demanded by the farmers, over and above the amount already given. He also asked officials to compensate farmers for small, unusable land parcels left behind due to the highway’s alignment.
He instructed the construction of service roads to ensure farming activities can continue without disruption. He also directed the installation of drainage systems wherever necessary.
Sathupalli MLA M. Raghamaiah, Wyra MLA Ram Das Naik, Khammam Collector Anudeep Durishetty, and NHAI officials joined the Minister during the site visit.
