Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday extended Vijayadashami greetings while attending the Alai Balai programme hosted by former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya in Hyderabad.
Prabhakar recalled that during the Telangana movement, political parties had their own agendas. However, he said all leaders fought together for the cause. “We showed the country what Telangana’s spirit is,” he remarked.

The Minister said Telangana’s cuisine, culture, and traditions should guide future generations. He praised the Alai Balai gathering for uniting leaders beyond political lines.
This year’s event took place under the leadership of Bandaru Vijayalakshmi. Prabhakar observed that leaders who usually clashed outside the venue stood together here, which he called the true greatness of Alai Balai.
He urged voters and leaders to ensure peaceful conduct of the upcoming local body elections. He stressed that democratic values must guide the polls and harmony should prevail across Telangana.
