Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar issued a statement clarifying reports about his alleged remarks on Adluri Laxman Kumar. He said some people distorted his comments for political gain.
Ponnam described Laxman Kumar as a brother and a trusted colleague in the Congress party. He said their 30-year friendship was stronger than politics. Their mutual respect, he added, had never changed and would continue in the future.
Ponnam denies making personal remarks
The minister said he never made personal comments about Adluri Laxman Kumar. He stated that he came from a modest background and represented the BC community, which shaped his respect for all.
He accused certain individuals of twisting his words and spreading false claims to create confusion. Ponnam said he felt deeply sorry that such actions had hurt Laxman Kumar, whom he considered family.
Emphasis on unity and Congress ideology
Expressing regret over the controversy, Ponnam said both he and Laxman Kumar would continue to work together for public welfare. He added that they remained committed to strengthening the Congress ideology and advancing social justice under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.
