Hyderabad, February 8: Political tensions have escalated between the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress following the Delhi Assembly election results. BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) took to social media to sarcastically congratulate Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, implying that the party’s poor performance had helped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secure victory.
In response, Congress leader Ponnam Prabhakar criticized KTR’s remarks, questioning whether his comments stemmed from an attempt to seek leniency in legal matters. He suggested that KTR’s stance indicated an indirect alignment with the BJP, aimed at securing relief from pending cases.
Prabhakar further alleged that BRS leaders had leveraged BJP’s support during their tenure and were now aligning with the party to evade legal scrutiny. He also criticized the BRS’s national ambitions, pointing out the party’s absence in the Delhi elections despite its rebranding as a national entity.
Drawing a comparison to previous elections, Prabhakar recalled that BRS leaders had displayed similar enthusiasm when the BJP won in Maharashtra. He claimed that the perceived alliance between BRS and BJP was evident in Telangana and was now becoming clear across the country.
