HYDERABAD: Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar criticized BJP leader Bandi Sanjay, stating that his remarks regarding the Ramzan gift demonstrate his political ignorance. He challenged BJP leaders to bring central funds and projects to Telangana if they have the capability.
Prabhakar emphasized the need for an eight-lane highway from Ramagundam to Hyderabad and urged BJP to take responsibility for such developments. He alleged that the ongoing collaboration between BRS and BJP is evident and that both parties worked together to defeat Congress in the recent elections.
According to Prabhakar, BJP colluded with BRS in the MLC elections by not fielding candidates in constituencies represented by KCR, Harish Rao, and KTR. He stated that the people of Telangana are aware of these political manoeuvres.
Criticizing Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, Prabhakar said it is inappropriate for a leader of his stature to make such remarks. He also questioned Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, who represents Hyderabad, about his contributions to the city during his tenure as the Minister of Tourism and Archaeology.
The minister accused BJP of showing discrimination against Telangana and questioned why BJP MPs are not working for state-related projects. He also demanded that KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao clarify whom they voted for in the recent elections.
Prabhakar further stated that BJP did not receive a significant vote share and questioned its overconfidence. He acknowledged that Congress lost the MLC elections by a narrow margin but assured that the party would review its performance. He emphasized that this defeat would have no impact on the party’s future.
