Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar criticized the BJP, stating that the party lacks the moral right to speak on the caste census issue and has ignored backward communities while in power.
HYDERABAD: Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has strongly criticized the BJP, claiming that the party has no moral right to comment on the caste census. Addressing the media on Saturday, he accused the BJP of neglecting backward and marginalized communities while in power and now misleading the public for political gain.
Ponnam Prabhakar emphasized that the Telangana government remains committed to social justice and accurate caste enumeration. He alleged that despite being in power at the center, the BJP never took steps to address caste-based welfare concerns.
“The BJP never prioritized caste-based reservations or welfare when they had the opportunity. Now, they are trying to deceive the people by pretending to support the caste census,” Prabhakar remarked.
The minister reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to conducting a detailed caste survey to ensure fair representation and benefits for all sections of society. His remarks come at a time when the debate over caste census is gaining national attention.
