Ponnam Prabhakar urges Congress workers to strengthen party ahead of local body polls

Hyderabad: State Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar called on Congress workers to strengthen the party ahead of the upcoming municipal and local body elections. He said every worker must play a key role in ensuring a strong performance by the Congress.

Ponnam addressed a Congress block-level meeting held at Thirumala Garden in Husnabad on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by AICC observer Jyoti Rathore and Choppadandi MLA Satyam.

Ponnam said the Congress high command had introduced a new system to empower district Congress presidents. He noted that every party worker must contribute to the strengthening of the organisation.

He told the workers that holding a party post alone was not enough. “Every Congress leader must win their own booth to prove their strength,” he said.

The Minister added that the Congress should demonstrate its full strength in the upcoming municipal and local body elections. He urged workers to take the elections as an opportunity to reaffirm the party’s grassroots reach.
