Minister Ponnam Prabhakar demands approval for BC quota bill
The Minister highlighted Telangana’s development and sought divine blessings for further progress. He noted that all political parties unanimously supported the Backward Classes reservation bill in the Assembly and pressed the Governor to approve it.
Prabhakar urged all parties to file affidavits in court reaffirming their support for enhanced BC quotas. He reminded that BJP MLA Payal Shankar and state BJP leaders had already expressed support for the measure during local body elections.
He accused the BJP of double standards by showing support in public while creating hurdles elsewhere. According to him, the Telangana government is pursuing every legal option to secure justice for backward communities.
Prabhakar added that the Election Commission released the local body poll schedule and the state government ensured smooth preparations. He called the reservation decision a step towards social justice and said Telangana had set an example for the country.
