HYDERABAD: In connection with the ongoing phone tapping case, Prabhakar Rao has filed an interim application (IA) in the Telangana High Court, requesting directions to prevent his arrest and expressing willingness to return to India.
The petition came up for hearing on Tuesday before Justice J. Sreenivas Rao. In his plea, Prabhakar Rao claimed that he was being falsely implicated in the phone tapping case and urged the court to grant anticipatory bail to avoid arrest upon his return.
Senior advocate T. Niranjan Reddy, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, argued that Prabhakar Rao is 65 years old and has health concerns that should be taken into consideration while deciding on the anticipatory bail request. He informed the court that Rao is prepared to return to India within a week and requested that police be restrained from arresting him upon arrival.
The court heard the arguments and is expected to issue further directions after considering the matter.
