Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing in the phone tapping case involving former SIB chief Prabhakar Rao, extending his anticipatory bail until the next date.
The Telangana government had filed a petition seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Rao, the prime accused in the politically sensitive surveillance case.
During the hearing, the state’s counsel Siddharth Luthra informed the bench that the investigation was still underway and requested additional time to submit a status report.
The court granted the request and postponed the hearing to August 25. It clarified that Prabhakar Rao’s anticipatory bail would remain valid until the adjourned date.
