Hyderabad: Former SIB chief Prabhakar Rao appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for the third time on Saturday in connection with the phone-tapping case under probe at Jubilee Hills Police Station.
Sources said SIT officials are preparing key questions for the session, following statements made by former DSP Praneeth Rao. On Friday, the SIT reportedly subjected Praneeth Rao to intense questioning.
Praneeth Rao is learnt to have told investigators that the destruction of hard disks was done on the instructions of Prabhakar Rao. This revelation has pushed the former SIB head into direct scrutiny.
Based on Praneeth Rao’s testimony, SIT officials are expected to focus on Prabhakar Rao’s alleged role in the deletion of sensitive data. Investigators have marked today’s session as crucial.
