Hyderabad: Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud on Wednesday hailed Chakali Ailamma as a fearless icon of Telangana’s armed struggle. He said her stand against bonded labour, hunger, and oppression embodied the state’s spirit and pride.

Goud spoke at her 40th death anniversary event held at Shivaji Chowrasta in Mailardevpally. The Lakshmiguda Rajaka Sangham organised the programme, where he served as chief guest and offered floral tributes to her portrait.
He noted that Ailamma inspired both phases of the Telangana movement. Her message, “The land belongs to the one who tills it,” continues to motivate people, he said. He praised her courage in resisting feudal landlords and Razakar forces.
Government focus on welfare and women’s progress
Goud added that the Telangana government remains committed to social welfare and the empowerment of women. He said icons like Ailamma continue to influence policy and community progress.
Local leaders including Dhanunjay, Prem Goud, Padamati Sridhar Reddy, Maduri Prabhakar Reddy, Lakshmareddy, Sai Malik, and Mahesh Raj also participated in the event.
