Hyderabad: Actor Prakash Raj is expected to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday in connection with the online betting apps promotion case. The ED had issued summons to multiple celebrities on July 21, directing them to present themselves for questioning.
As of Tuesday night, officials had not received any formal communication from Prakash Raj, though he is still expected to attend the scheduled deposition.
The probe stems from FIRs filed in Panjagutta, Miyapur, Cyberabad, Suryapet, and Visakhapatnam against loan and betting apps. Based on these, the ED registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), naming 29 individuals, including actors and influencers.
Among those summoned are actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rana Daggubati. Rana, initially scheduled for July 23, sought more time due to a film shoot. Vijay, slated for August 6, also requested a deferral. Both have now been rescheduled for August 11.
Actress Manchu Lakshmi has been summoned for questioning on August 13.
