Hyderabad: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar accused the Telangana Congress government of reversing key welfare schemes and discriminating against SC, ST and BC communities.
Praveen Kumar criticised the state government for abandoning the successful Dalit Bandhu scheme. He pointed out that the KCR administration enabled SC entrepreneurs from every assembly constituency to enter business with dignity. It also offered SC, ST and BC contractors a 40% exemption on Earnest Money Deposit but the new regime now provides no such relief, even for Gurukul tender applications.
In his view, this omission suggests the Congress government views SCs, STs, and BCs as unfit for contract work.
Praveen Kumar noted that during the Chevella SC/ST declaration, Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge joined the event. At that time, the party pledged ₹12 lakh under Dalit Bandhu but so far no disbursements followed.
He also claimed the government promised an 18% reservation in government contracts for SCs and STs. Yet, neither he nor his party had seen even a single contract awarded to them.
Praveen Kumar charged that the Revanth Reddy government and Congress stand against the interests of Dalits and other marginalised groups. He told Kharge that Telangana’s citizens are observing and exposing the party’s betrayal.
Moreover, he mocked ongoing Congress padayatras, questioning their sincerity if genuine SC/ST upliftment remained untouched.
