Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday greeted the people of Telangana on the occasion of the ‘Alai Balai’ festival, calling it a celebration that strengthens brotherhood and revives traditions.
In her message, the President said the event, launched by former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, plays a key role in fostering harmony and preserving Telangana’s cultural heritage. She wished that this year’s celebrations unfold in a grand manner in Hyderabad.

The President described Alai Balai as a platform that mirrors Telangana’s customs during Navratri and strengthens social unity. She said the festival stands out as an inclusive event beyond politics, bringing people together across communities.
Every year during Dasara, Bandaru Dattatreya organises Alai Balai in Hyderabad. Leaders from across political parties attend the gathering, which has grown into a major cultural occasion in Telangana.
