Hyderabad: Private college managements in Telangana announced they will shut down institutions indefinitely from September 15. They demanded immediate release of pending fee reimbursement funds and scholarships.
The colleges said the government still owes ₹10,000 crore under the fee reimbursement scheme. They warned that if the state fails to clear dues, colleges will remain closed. Several student unions also backed the demand and urged the government to act quickly.

College representatives submitted a notice to the State Council of Higher Education chairman. They informed him about the bandh decision and pressed for urgent payment of arrears.
The managements also declared that they will observe Engineers’ Day as a Black Day. They said the protest would highlight the government’s delay in releasing funds. Student groups expressed concern that the shutdown could disrupt academic schedules if the dispute continues.
