HYDERABAD: Professor Yadavalli Lakshmi Srinivas has been appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor of Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University in Mulugu district, Telangana. The Union Education Ministry issued orders confirming his five-year tenure in this role.
Prior to this appointment, Professor Srinivas served at Aurora University in Hyderabad. His selection marks the initial leadership for the university, which was established by the central government in Mulugu district and named after the tribal deities Sammakka and Sarakka.
In March 2024, Union Minister Kishan Reddy inaugurated the university in temporary facilities. The government has allocated ₹889 crore for the construction of permanent campus buildings, with efforts underway to transition from temporary to permanent facilities.
