Guntur: Fishermen off Pudimadaka coast in Anakapalli district landed a giant shark on Saturday, measuring 15 feet and weighing around 500 kg. The rare catch sparked excitement and fear among locals, who said such a specimen had never been seen in the area before.
According to fisherman Maddu Nukaraju, the shark was hooked during a routine fishing trip. Initially frightened by its size, the crew spent nearly five hours bringing it ashore. They first dragged it closer to the boat and struck it with spears, then tied it with ropes as it was too large to lift on board.
