Hyderabad: The Hayathnagar Police arrested three individuals in connection with two housebreaking-by-night cases and recovered stolen property including 22.6 tulas of gold, 6 tulas of silver, ₹3 lakh cash, and a Maruti Swift car used in the offences.
Acting on the directions of Rachakonda Commissioner of Police G. Sudheer Babu and under the supervision of DCP LB Nagar CH. Praveen Kumar, the arrests were made on September 19 at Bhagyalatha, Hayathnagar.
The arrested persons are:
- Mandla Shiva (32), a labourer and habitual offender from Kharmanghat, Saroor Nagar.
- Yalla Balakrishna (35), a cab driver from BN Reddy Nagar, with prior murder charges.
- Mothkur Srikanth (35), a painter from Nagarkurnool, who helped sell the stolen gold.
According to police, Mandla Shiva, recently released on bail, conspired with Balakrishna to commit thefts using the latter’s car. On September 6, they targeted a locked house in RTC Mazdoor Nagar, stealing silver jewellery. A week later, they burgled another home in Jayasurya Nagar, escaping with 33 tulas of gold, an Armani watch, and cash.
Shiva later involved Srikanth to sell some of the gold at Attica Gold, LB Nagar. Items sold are yet to be recovered.
Recovered items include:
- Gold ornaments weighing 22.6 tulas
- Silver items weighing 6 tulas
- ₹3,00,000 in cash
- One USA Armani wristwatch
- A Maruti Swift Tour (TS 11 UC 2360)
Shiva has multiple past cases under his name, including thefts in Vanasthalipuram, Aminpur, Meerpet, and Saroor Nagar. Balakrishna has two pending murder cases under Uppal PS. Srikanth has no criminal history.
Rachakonda Police commended the Hayathnagar team for the swift investigation and recovery.
