Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu, IPS, led the 79th Independence Day celebrations at Amberpet headquarters on Friday, hoisting the national flag.
He said the police stand as the first line of defence for citizens and that their sacrifices must be remembered. He urged officers to deliver “true independence” by protecting the public and ensuring justice. Reviewing the past year’s work, he called for even greater responsibility in the coming months.
The Commissioner reminded personnel that India’s freedom came through the supreme sacrifices of countless fighters. He said the Telangana Police had earned national pride, contributing to progress in many sectors. He also extended Independence Day greetings to all officers and staff.
Senior officials attended the ceremony, including LB Nagar DCP Praveen Kumar, SOT DCP Ramana Reddy, Traffic DCP–1 Manohar, Traffic DCP–2 Srinivasulu, Women Safety DCP Usha Rani, Cyber Crime DCP Nagalakshmi, and Headquarters DCP Shyam Sundar, along with additional DCPs and other senior officers.
